Moving with kindness 🤍🪽✨

Earlier this month I had the privilege of hosting the Bromley Youth Services’ HerSpace girls group, an initiative designed to bring together young girls who may be living in care or other challenging circumstances. Not only does HerSpace provide a safe environment for these girls but it also creates a community in which experiences and perspectives can be shared.

I felt strongly about hosting a session because sometimes all it takes is seeing someone who’s walked a different path to realise there’s another way. Growing up isn’t easy and it’s not always clear how you get yourself on the right path, especially if you haven’t got the right support or people around you.

So, sharing my story really gave me a platform to advocate for difference, for not always following the conventional path and that it’s ok to follow your passions and not worry about fitting in. I remember when I was younger I would change parts of myself to fit in and it was only when I decided to choose to embrace my identity and real interests that I was able to build something beautiful…HM Cosmetics.

As many of you will know HM started as a side hustle in my bedroom and now has transformed into my dream salon with an incredible team of strong and supportive women providing our clients with confidence enhancing treatments. HM is a safe space for all, both us HM angels and our gorgeous clients.

And what really brought it home for me during my time at HerSpace was the prominent theme of kindness, and that ultimately moving with kindness and supporting others, in particular women, is what brings you success.

We are so excited that the girls will be coming to HM HQ for a free pamper session and we truly hope that this will continue building on creating opportunities for them to feel safe, valued and of course enjoy some well deserved self care!

Even if one girl left believing in herself a little more, our work here is done.
